Psychiatric Mental-Health Nurse Practitioner

Sky is a Psychiatric Mental-Health Nurse Practitioner (PMHNP-BC) who provides psychiatric assessment and medication management to patients across the lifespan. She graduated from Frontier Nursing University with her master’s degree in nursing with a specialty in Psychiatric-Mental Health Nurse Practitioner and is board certified through the American Nurses Credentialing Center. Before becoming a PMHNP-BC, Sky practiced as a nurse for the last seven years in numerous specialties, including being the Director of Nursing at a nonprofit psychiatric treatment facility where she managed care specific to the acute and chronic psychiatric needs of patients to include acute onset psychosis, depression and anxiety, ADHD, PTSD, substance use disorders, and problems with emotional and behavioral regulation.

Sky believes in a personalized treatment approach based on the patient’s individual needs, beliefs, and preferences. If a patient wants an alternative to psychotropic medication, Sky personalizes treatment plans by addressing exercise, diet, sleep quality, vitamin/herbal supplementation, and other alternative methods based on the patient’s needs. Sky utilizes evidence-based practice and ensures that each patient is provided with safe and effective care. Sky offers psychiatric evaluation and diagnosis, medication management, and most importantly helps patients identify their goals to achieve mental well-being.

Sky is passionate about working with children and their families and supporting them during times of change. Sky provides a safe environment for patients to express themselves and serves as an advocate for her patients. When Sky is not working, she enjoys exploring the great outdoors across the Midwest. Sky looks forward to working with you in the future!
