IEP & 504 Plan Support
Navigating your child's education plan can feel overwhelming, especially when you're not sure your child is getting the support they need. At Therapy Etc, our educational advocates work directly with you, your child's school team, and other key players to make sure the right plan is in place and actually working.
Our educational advocate works alongside families in Buffalo Grove, IL and surrounding areas to navigate IEPs, 504 plans, and transition plans, ensuring your child receives the support they deserve. As your IEP advocate, we provide direct guidance to parents, teachers, and educational organizations on academic matters, helping everyone stay aligned. Our clinicians at Therapy Etc serve as your special education advocate, working with both home and school teams to assess and address areas like behavior, classroom management, curricula, technology use, and student activities. Since we also offer therapy services and parent coaching under one roof, we can connect the dots between your child's school needs and their overall well-being. If you're unsure where to start, a psychiatric evaluation may also help clarify the clinical picture before advocacy work begins.
We tailor advocacy work to the specific services you need and the time required to complete them. Note that this service is not covered by insurance. We charge $45 per 15-minute interval.
Signs You May Benefit from Educational Advocacy
The school system can feel like a maze, especially when your child's needs aren't being met and you're not sure where to turn. You don't have to navigate it alone.
You may benefit from working with an educational advocate if:
You feel overwhelmed by the school system and aren't sure how IEPs, 504 plans, or special education processes actually work
IEP meetings feel intimidating and you struggle to speak up, ask the right questions, or push back when something doesn't seem right
You're concerned your child's legal rights aren't being upheld under IDEA or Section 504 and want someone in your corner who knows the law
Your child isn't receiving the services or accommodations they need to make meaningful progress in school
You feel like school staff and your family aren't on the same page and communication keeps breaking down
Our educational advocates in Buffalo Grove, IL are here to help you understand your rights, speak up effectively, and make sure your child gets the support they deserve.
