Ian Cates, LSW

Ian is a Licensed Social Worker with his Master's in Social Work from Aurora University. Ian holds experience coaching life skills, teaching and guiding others to practice skills needed to transition and develop throughout the various stages of life. He also has previous experience mentoring youth with PTSD and Oppositional Defiance Disorder.

Ian’s specialties encompass serving clients across the life span with various diagnosis including: ADHD, Anxiety and Depression, through the use of Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT). As an individual diagnosed with ADHD, Ian is able to work with individuals in an empathetic and understanding relation. Ian draws from professional, educational, and personal experience to form creative, effective clinical approaches and interventions with his clients.

Within a therapeutic session with Ian, an individual should always feel accepted, at ease, and ready to take approaches that think outside the box. A laugh or a smile are always welcome, as it is Ian’s goal to help others see therapy as a positive experience.
