A Special Message from Michelle Magida, Founder

Hello all, It is Wednesday and I feel like this is the only moment I have had to openly address our community regarding the Highland Park Parade shooting. On Monday evening, July 4th, I began taking action by collaborating with some phenomenal mental health professionals who are working behind the scenes to support our community in need. Efforts from across the board, including, but not limited to, CATCH, Simply Bee, Highland Park School District 113 and School Board, and the Highland Park City Council worked swiftly to ensure that qualified trauma-informed mental health professionals were available to support the community first thing Tuesday morning. As a certified EMDR (Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing) Therapist, it was my honor to be one of the trauma-informed mental health professionals on-site at Highland Park High School on Tuesday. But, the work doesn’t stop there. Therapy Etc is committed to supporting the community by providing quality, immediate and ongoing, in-person and online, trauma-informed care for children (3+), adolescents, adults, parents, and families. Call our intake line at 847-807-8777 x 1. We will help connect you to an appropriate mental health service, even if it is not with us. We are offering our support, at no charge, to anyone directly affected by the recent shooting in Highland Park.
