Nia Johnson, LSW

Nia is a Licensed Social Worker who has a passion for helping people feel understood, heard, and seen. She creates a warm, safe, and non-judgmental space where clients can explore their experiences at their own pace. She is passionate about uplifting individuals and helping them recognize their light within through a strengths-based, trauma-informed approach. Nia understands that therapy is a marathon, not a race, and believes every person's journey is unique, deserving to be met with patience, kindness, and compassion.

 

Nia earned her master’s in social work with a specialization in Mental Health from Jane Addams School of Social Work at the University of Illinois at Chicago. She earned her bachelor’s degree in applied psychology at the University of Illinois at Chicago. 

 

Nia's clinical experience includes providing group and individual therapy in a Partial Hospitalization/Intensive Outpatient (PHP/IOP) program, supporting adolescents and adults navigating anxiety, depression, intrusive thoughts, and life transitions. She has also worked at a crisis hotline, where she supported youth and families in moments of crisis by offering immediate interventions and resources. Additionally, Nia has professional experience as a Pretrial Officer and Court Liaison, where she has helped individuals connect with needed services and advocated for fair treatment within the justice system.
